Duke Events
- Tuesday, May 18,
4-6 pm: Bike to Work Week event at Bryan Center Plaza on Duke University campus.
Light snacks and social time for Duke employee cyclists as they have an opportunity to network, talk with a cycling coach, check out Melon foldable bikes, and have Bike/Ped staff on hand for questions about cycling safety and maintenance. Cycling information on a variety of subjects will be available to Duke employees joining this event.
*In the event of inclement weather, this event will be moved indoors to Schaefer Mall inside the Bryan Center .
NCSU Events
- April 28, 12-1pm: NCSU Basic Bike Commuter Lunch & Learn at Talley Brown Room.
Learn basic bike commuting skills, such as NC bike laws and rules of the road, how to carry your things, what to wear and how to make sure your bike is in good working condition after a long hiatus. Tour Meet in the Capability Parking Lot 1 (across from Research Bldg
IV) on Centennial Campus.
This on-bike skills course is for those who would like to feel more comfortable on the bike before trying to bike commute. League Cycling Instructor, Ken Kaye, will review braking skills, turning maneuvers, gearing, and riding with traffic. The course will include a bicycle tour around campus so come prepared to ride.
