Get your bike in working order! On May 15th, bike shops all around the Triangle will offer bike inspections all day long at no charge AND no appointment required (though you might have to wait when you arrive)! See the complete list of participating shops.

Go Chapel Hill-Carrboro and UNC-Chapel Hill's CAP program present CycleFest 2013!  Their events are guaranteed to be a good time!

Be sure to check out the Go Chapel Hill tables located throughout Chapel Hill to find information on alternative transportation options in Chapel Hill, Carrboro and the Greater Triangle Area. Kidical Mass

Kidical Mass is a legal, safe and fun bike ride for kids and their families. It stresses the notion that kids are traffic too and works to get children to follow proper safety procedures on their bicycles while gaining their parents trust in their ability to navigate streets

Students are encouraged to walk or bike to school on Wednesday, May 8th to improve the quality of the air, experience a more fit way to arrive at school each day and to feel great as you arrive at school!

Space is limited, so sign up soon! Bring your lunch and learn from a League Cycling Instructor (LCI), certified by the League of American Bicyclists. The LCI will teach you how to make a good bike selection and fit, the principles for driving in traffic and Rules of the Road. You'll learn the ABC Quick Check and how to fix a flat. The LCI will demo how to maneuver your bike to do a quick stop, rock dodge and instant turn.

The Beach Café

UNC’s Commuter Alternative Program (CAP) will set up tables with games and prizes outside The Beach Café to promote the upcoming Bike to Work Week. Current bike commuters will be encouraged to map their routes and sign up as mentors for other potential bike commuters, as well as congregate with other cyclists and exchange ideas. The Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro will be there to promote nearby cycling resources and events.

Donate old bikes to kids and adults who need them! Raid your garage and take old, unused kid's bikes to the Downtown YMCA. These will be given to Durham's famous "Bikeman Days" for refurbishment and then given away again. Donate adult bikes to the Bike Co-op on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons in May. For kids bikes: Downtown YMCA 6-8PM. Thurs. May 23 for adult bikes: Bike Co-op 7-10PM.

Duke Parking & Transportation Services will be hosting a bicycle commuter course to equip bicyclists with the information you need to become a regular bike commuter.
The course will cover basic bike maintenance and repair, NC bike laws, safe biking tips and techniques, how to carry gear and equipment, and an on-bike campus tour.
Please bring a bike and helmet.

Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.
The Ride of Silence (locally organized by MS Fits) is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride.
