Advocacy/Advisory Organizations

Durham Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission – an appointed citizens’ group whose purpose it is to advise Durham’s City Council and County Commissioners on bicycle and pedestrian issues. Join their listserv here.
Capital Area MPO Bicycle Pedestrian Stakeholders Group – an advisory group of citizens and planners to the regional transportation planning organization for Wake, Franklin, Johnston, Harnett, and Granville Counties.
Chapel Hill Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Board - the 10-member board is appointed by the Town Council to advise the Council on the creation, development, and revision of a phased Walks and Bikeways Master Plan.

League of American Bicyclists – a national non-profit that promotes bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation and work through advocacy and education for a bicycle-friendly America
NC Coalition for Bicycle Driving—a grass-roots organization promoting lawful, vehicular-style bicycle driving, as the safest and most effective way to travel by bicycle.
Triangle Greenways Council – a local non-profit that promotes the expansion and use of greenway corridors throughout the Triangle Region.
