Public Hearing about Proposed DATA Bus Fare Increases
The City of Durham is considering a proposal to increase transit fares on DATA services. The fare changes are proposed to be effective September 28, 2013.
Seniors (65 and older) and Youth (12 and younger) will continue to ride free
Students 17 and under currently ride for $0.25
*The discount rate is currently available to disabled customers and is proposed to be available to students (13-18) and disabled customers.
**This is available to non-profit agencies.
In order to obtain written and oral comments on the proposed fare increases, a public hearing will be held on June 3, 2013 for all interested citizens of Durham. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. All interested citizens and organizations are encouraged to attend the meeting. Please contact the City Clerk’s office at 560-4166 prior to the meeting, or sign up as you enter the Council Chambers on the night of the meeting. Click here for a map to City Hall.
