Chapel Hill Transit North-South Corridor Public Meetings

Chapel Hill Transit is conducting the North-South Corridor Alternatives Analysis, “North-South Corridor Study” for short, to evaluate the best methods for moving more residents and commuters along the MLK Boulevard and 15-501 South corridor. An Alternatives Analysis (AA) is a detailed study of all reasonable transportation alternatives within a corridor that addresses identified transportation problems. The study area runs from the Eubanks Road Park & Ride lot  and the popular Southern Village and points in between.

You're invited to these three identical workshops:

  • Oct. 21 at 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM:
UNC Campus, Carolina Student Union, 3103 FPG Student Union, Chapel Hill
  • Oct. 22 at 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM:
Town of Chapel Hill Chambers, 405 MLK Jr. Blvd, Chapel Hill.
  • Oct. 23 at 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM:
N.C. Children’s Hospital (Stage Area), 101 Manning Drive, Chapel Hill

Details of the project are available at http://nscstudy.org/.

The goals of the study are to:

  • Improve travel capacity and mobility
  • Provide rapid and reliable transit throughout the corridor.
  • Create positive opportunities for economic development around stations
  • Produce a Locally Preferred Alternative as a step to securing Federal funding to support transit improvements in this corridor.
