Duke Transit

Welcome to Duke!

Duke’s beautiful campus is surrounded by trees and green space. In order to maintain this natural atmosphere, most parking is found on the periphery of campus. Duke Parking & Transportation Services provides parking facilities, buses and shuttles, and various means of alternative transportation throughout Duke University and the Duke University Health System. Duke provides free, accessible transportation on campus and in some neighboring areas through Duke Transit buses and vans.

Duke Transit operates more than 30 buses with routes throughout the campus and health system. Students, staff, faculty and visitors can ride campus buses at no charge.

The Robertson Scholars route is a fare-free route providing service between Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill during the school year. The Robertson Scholars Program encourages everyone to experience the educational, cultural and social offerings on both campuses.

For a list of campus bus routes and schedules, including the Robertson Scholars bus, please visit the website.

Local and regional bus transportation is provided off-campus by the Durham Area Transit Authority (Route 6, 11 and the Bull City Connector) and Triangle Transit. There are bus stops for this service all across the university and health system.
